What is TECGAIN of ADN8834 DS?

Hi,

 

I have a question about TEC controller ADN8834.

 

I can see an equation of f_0dB in DS at p18.

Can you explain what TECGAIN in it?

 

from Fig 35, 0dB should  be at 1/(2*pi*R_1*C_1). But f_0dB of equation has x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN.

I assume the followings;

 

1. TECGAIN is a varied value from device itself. It can change by hot mode or cold mode.

2. When users think of PID Compensation, they can ignore x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN. The part would be canceled as x1 or very tiny???


Is my assumption correct?

If not, could you explain what it is?


I would like to know

- What is TECGAIN? and how can it be led in calculation?

- Why is x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN ignored in Fig 35?

Is there a device which would accept differential LVPECL signal and convert it to differential signal of 6 v p-p or higher...

I am planning to adopt ADN2526 since it has open collector outputs...

My application requires such device with maximum propagation delay of 50ps.

The ADN2526 specs do not list propagation delay...

Please advice,

ADN8834, Amplifers

Hallo,

 

are the two chopper stabilized amplifers inside the ADN8834 on while the chip is in standby. I plan implementing a digital control loop arournd the AD8834. It want to use one of the amplifiers for buffering the voltage across the thermistor. But I want to measure temperature without activation the power stage.

EVAL-ADF70xx driver problem

I've EVAL-ADF70xxMBZ2 recently procured to use with EVAL-ADF7021 (and 7021-N).

 

I had installed previous version of ADISIMLINK on my computer so i tried the provided "purge_ADIismLink" to clear the registry. Somehow it can not delete the registry entry (stops with Error encountered (0xe0000235) message)........... I found the related key "VID_0456&PID_b400" using regedit and tried to delete it manually but "access is denied"... I tried all known methods from microsoft forums to delete the key but it's useless. Eventually I  could not install the driver.. BTW, It's installed fine on another PC which was clean of ADISIMLINK. Any suggestions?

 

Another problem on the other PC (which the driver is installed fine) ADF7021.exe and ADF7021-Nexe give "Run Time Error '48' File not found: parllio" and exits. It works for ADF-7021-V.exe but i am using ADF-7021 and ADF7021-N.

Hello everyone,

 

I am looking to implement a lock-in amplifier in the range of 100kHz to 1MHz to obtain amplitude and phase information.  Any thoughts on whether the AD630 will be ok for this frequency range, or is there another device out there that is better?

ADF7021-N,RSSI level always 0.Where is my error?

Hi to everybody in this forum,

thanks in advance just for reading this

 

My firmware is not able to read RSSI level on ADF7021-N mounted on a specific board

 

The board itself can be connected to the Eval board,and in this case RSSI can be read,

It is pretty correct,i.e -60dBm RSSI vs -59 dBm on a very good spectrum analyzer.

So i can guess that my hardware  works fine.

 

If i control the ADF7021 by means of a uC i can succesfully set the Tx frequency,i  have correct readback of VDD,Product Id(0x2111),external ADC IN but RSSI remains0x500..

To have something different i have to let ADC disabled in register 8:I this case i have RSSI=0x52F ,changing signal level has not effect.

 

I use the EVB as a Tx,generating  a modulated signal,say 100MHz at2,4Kbps 1010 GFSK.

The Rx is my bord,

 

i set at 170Mhz Rx mode(synth dividers calculated 100KHz lower,169.90 Mhz), MUXOUT set to digital lock,i wait for it going high(in Tx it works)

 

then i perform the readback in the following steps

1)ADC Enable setting bit 8 of register 8   (0x108)

2)Setting value to write in Readback setup register :Readback for ADC out and ADC converting RSSI,Readback enabled

3)I write the above value(0x147) in Register 7 ,Readback Setup Register

4)I set register 0 to have RSSI_Ready  signalled on MUX_OUT ,

5)I wait until RSS_ Ready is high,but it it looks always high,..why?

6)I perform the Readback in 18 clock cycles

7)I turn off ADC

How to connect a laser with common PD-anode and LD-cathode to ADN2847?

Hi All,

 

I'd like to know a following point about ADN2847 application circuit.

According to Figure 15 in the datasheet of ADN2847(RevB), a laser with common PD-cathode and LD-anode is used for this circuit.

If a laser with common PD-anode and LD-cathode is used, how to change the circuit?

Could you tell me about this?

ADA4571 sensing tooth of gear wheel

Hello,

 

Below is a figure copied from CN0332.

AMR sensor senses magnetic field. Gear wheel or rack is not a magnet. I wonder how magetic field is created from a metal as shown the figure?  Is a specific metal or  process required for creation of magnetic field?  If it is , could I get detailed information on that?

I am a university student doing my final year university project.Part of My project is to design a fiber optic receiver.I am employing Analog devices ADN3000-06-50A-PT7 ic for this purpose.I am encountering several issues with the ic ...

1) First question i have is this ic is in die form,therefore it is hard to solder for undergraduates like us.So do you have this ic as a chip with a package?


2)Do you have footprints available for this ic,if so please guide me how to get a footprint?

 

3)I am planning to design the application for about 3Gbps.I have to design circuit and simulate by a software first.What is the simulation software that can be used for a RF design like this?Does Analog devices has a library created for ADN3000-06 ic for this simulation software?

 

I would be really grateful for your supports to fix my above mentioned issues...

AD5242 used as varying resistor with LM317 to get analog voltage

I am trying to get analog voltage with AD5242 and LM317. I get both the ICs working seperately but when I use the resistor value I created with AD5242 on the LM317, it doesn't work as expected. I increase the resistor value step by step from 100R to 10K. At small resistor values (100R to 2K) the output voltage increases accordingly (about 1V to 6.8V). After that, I continue to increase the resistance but output voltage stucks at 6.8V. Sorry if it is a silly question. Sorry for my English and the goofy sketch. Any help will be much appreciated.

ADA4571 Evaluation Software doesn't be opened

Hi All,

 

I am now trying to install the ADA4571 Evaluation Software into my PC, it doesn't work so far.

I am trying to install it along with the installation procedure written in theUG-739.

The software is downloaded from web-site, because it doesn't contain in the purchased ADA4571 Evaluation Kit.

Windows GUI Installation has completed with no error.

And thenSDPInstallation has also been completed with no error.

However, in thestep4, theLabVIEWGUI doesn't be opened, after connecting theSDP+ ADA4571-EBZto PC with USB cable.

Could you help me how to fix this?

Question about test setting of ADN8834

Hello,

 

My customer wants to confirm the performance of ADN8834 using EVM first.

And they are trying to test a ADN8834 EVM and TOSA module with Thermoelectric Cooler (from NeoPhotonics.)

 

During the test, they say that they can't confirm TEC currents, they can confirm only small change of TEC currents occasionally.

So they request how to confirm the operation of ADN8834 and how to set up ADN8834 at temperature test.

(They use plat cable for connecting between ADN8834 in EVM and TEC in TOSA module.)

 

Would you advise me how to test ADN8834 in EVM ?

 

If you have any questions, please let me know.

ADF7021 with external Rx/Tx switch (ADG919)

Hi,

 

we have made and are using RF modules based on the ADF7021 transceiver with it's internal Rx/Tx switch. So far we are very satisfied with its performance. But we would like to go one step further and build a module with an external Rx/Tx switch (ADG919). I know that there are parasitic capacitance and inductance dependent from a specific pcb layout but any way are there any pre calculated values for matching LC networks for 433MHz, 868MHz and 915Mhz frequencies for such design?
