Hi ADIer,

Where can I find the IBIS model of ADATE318? I can not do simulation without it.

I can't find a suitable place to put this request, ADATE318 integrated DACs, maybe I can put it here.

Thanks in advance.

What is TECGAIN of ADN8834 DS?

$

Hi,

I have a question about TEC controller ADN8834.

I can see an equation of f_0dB in DS at p18.

Can you explain what TECGAIN in it?

from Fig 35, 0dB should  be at 1/(2*pi*R_1*C_1). But f_0dB of equation has x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN.

I assume the followings;

1. TECGAIN is a varied value from device itself. It can change by hot mode or cold mode.

2. When users think of PID Compensation, they can ignore x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN. The part would be canceled as x1 or very tiny???

Is my assumption correct?

If not, could you explain what it is?

I would like to know

- What is TECGAIN? and how can it be led in calculation?

- Why is x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN ignored in Fig 35?

Thank you for your help.

Having noise problems w/ AD1988A / ASUS/ M2N-SLI Deluxe

I have the latest drivers and a creative 7.1 speaker setup. My monitor is a Olevia 42 inch LCD TV.

I have this background hum. Just like when a guitar is plugged into an amp. There are times when it will stop for a short time and then return.My TV output is plugged into the input jack on my PC. And all of the wiring is correct. I also have some Sansui speakers involved as front speakers. (I'm trying to think of everything here.) But it is strange that this hum will come and go. Any ideas on where to start looking?

Suggessions required to improve perfomance of ADF7021-V

Hi all,

I have interface ADF7021-V daughterboard with an 8 bit microcontroller to transmit a realtime ECG signal. I found the system is working perfectly without any error in case of Line Of Sight (LOS) with more than 50 meters. But if there is no LOS, ie. in case of in between walls, the system fails to work beyond 20 feet.

Is it possible to do anything to improve the efficiency in case of no LOS?

Questions on pins MIX_I, MIX_Q, FILT_I and FILT_Q for ADF 7020

$

Dear Sir/Madam,

My primary goal is to find the phase information of the received signal using a quadrature demodulation architecture receiver/transceiver. Therefore the signals I am most interested in are the I and Q signals at the output of the two down-conversion mixers since phase=arctan(Q/I) if my understanding is correct. From the data sheet of ADF7020, I learned that there might be several pins related to I and Q signals, i.e. MIX_Q, MIX_I, FILT_I and FILT_Q.

I wonder which pins I should use to fulfill my purpose here? Will I be able to obtain DC values for I and Q signals here?

Also, the datasheet indicates that these pins are high impedance pins and should be left open, how can I be able to monitor the signals from those pins?

Thank you so much in advance.

ADIS16209CCCZ - INCLINOMETER

We have on regular basis the same complains for ADIS16209CCCZ.

The customers report as follows:

... these IC are shorted to GND as soon as they were soldered in place while using small programmable re-flow oven. ...

... 3 pcs of p/n 1607244 INCLINOMETER, ±1.7G, 3.3V, 16LGA but none of them worked. Two had a shorting inside VCC and GND - and the Dout signal was not working in the third one....

Does anybody has encountered more similar problems and what could be the reason why this happens?

Controlling digital potentiometer (AD5142) by Arduino UNO

$

Hi, I am trying to control digital potentiometer (AD5142) by Arduino UNO.

캡처.PNG
Here is the pin configuration of AD5142.

I connect SCLK pin to 13 pin of Arduino (serial clock pin), SDI pin to 11 pin of Arduino (MOSI pin) and SDO pin to 12 pin of Arduino (MISO pin).

SYNC pin was connected to digital output pin of Arduino.

And according to the data sheet of AD5142, I connected the RESET pin to V(LOGIC) pin because I don't want to use reset.

V(DD), A1 and A2 pin to 5V and V(SS) to ground.

And I used the Arduino code below,

------------------------------------------------

// inslude the SPI library:
#include <SPI.h>

// set pin 10 as the slave select for the digital pot:
const int slaveSelectPin = 8;

void setup() {
  // set the slaveSelectPin as an output:
   pinMode (slaveSelectPin, OUTPUT);
  // initialize SPI:
   SPI.begin();
   Serial.begin(9600);
}

void loop() {
//***********************************************************
int channel1 = 0;
/////////////////////
double voltage1 = 2;
/////////////////////
double level1 = voltage1 * 51;
digitalPotWrite(channel1, level1);

int channel2 = 1;
/////////////////////
double voltage2 = 2;
/////////////////////
double level2 = voltage2 * 51;
digitalPotWrite(channel2, level2);
}
//***********************************************************

void digitalPotWrite(int address, double value) {
   // take the SS pin low to select the chip:
   digitalWrite(slaveSelectPin,LOW);
   //  send in the address and value via SPI:
   SPI.transfer(address);
   SPI.transfer(value);
   // take the SS pin high to de-select the chip:
   digitalWrite(slaveSelectPin,HIGH);
}

------------------------------------------------

However, I cannot control the resistance of AD5142.

Can you help me?

Hello,

I am using a sticky tag from Alien Technologies (ALN-9640 Squiggle® Inlay).  Can the EVAL-ADF70xxMBZ2 (with ADF7020 DB) read the data from this tag.

I am using 'ADIismLINK config SW' to display the tag data. I can see the RFID readers configuration settings on this simulation software, but I dont know how to display the data after read from the tag.  Can you also help me using this software ?

Question Regarding AD8339

$

Hello to everyone in Engineer Zone,

I wish to post a technical inquiry about the AD8339.

According to the datasheet for product AD8339 Revision B

on page 29, and with reference to the section "using the SPI Port,"

there is an executable program available at the Analog Devices, Inc.,

website.This program, according to the screen shot (Figure 62) on the same

page, is the AD8339 SPI Interface. When I attempted to search for this

program on the Analog Devices, Inc., website, I could not find it. Please

inform me whether this program is available, or if it has been re-

located, replaced or removed. Should the program no longer be available, I

then intend to program the AD8339 with an Arduino (Uno and/or Mega2560),

as I am aware that the AD8339 accepts SPI signals.

Further, I wish to send a single RF signal into the AD8339. Would doing so

allow me to send that signal into pin RF1P? As a result, I would expect

output signals at pins I1OP and Q1OP. How then should I manage the three

other RF input and six other output pins, if they will not be used?

May they be grounded?

Next, in my case I assume I would need one transimpedance amplifier, or

I/V converter, such as the AD8021, for I1OP and another for Q1OP, followed

by a separate low-pass filter for each of those signals. Fortunately, I

have available the AD7714 Analog to Digital Converter which I intend to

connect to the outputs of the low-pass filters.

As another matter, please explain the requirement for using a DS90C401

LVDS driver for the LO input.

I look forward to your advice and guidance. Thank you very much for your

time and attention to my inquiry.

time-to-digtial or time-to-analog converter

We need to measure the time duration between two pulses (separation range 5ns to 40ns, resolution <200ps, >50k measurements/s). I searched analog.com but did not find any chip dedicated for such measurements - but then again, search with the words time, digital, analog are pretty useless, so I thought to ask specifically to make sure i did not overlook an obvious choice.
