I am facing one strange issue with CCES .. The issue is if I open the project and bulid am getting no errors but if I open some file am seeing some errors like "CD_RV cannot be resolved". But that MACRO is defined in a header file that is even included ..... And also this is just the example project and I have not added any changes ................

Thanks for help ..

Problem with AGC on ADF7021-N

Hello,

I am facing a strange issue with AGC on the ADF7021-N chip.

I am using an external oscillator at 14,7456 MHz, listening to a transmitter sending analog audio at 324,0875 MHz and my register settings looks like this:

reg0: 0x095f8c80

reg1: 0x037ad021

reg2: 0x009610a2

reg3: 0x3e4c0493

reg4: 0x80a73694

reg5: 0x000024f5

reg6: 0x0a07ebb6

reg9: 0x000231e9

reg10: 0x0896355a

reg14: 0x0000001e

reg15: 0x0000000f

I observe the following:

  1. If I program the chip after turning the transmitter on, audio is fine and I can read an RSSI value from register 7 that makes sense.
  2. If I program the chip and THEN turn the transmitter on, audio quality is really bad and the RSSI value is low even though the filter gain and LNA Gain are set at maximum (2 and 2).
  3. When I have proper audio quality and degrade the signal such that AGC sets the Filter and LNA Gain to maximum, then it doesn't reduce the gain again when I restore a good signal quality, and the RSSI value read back is still extremely low.
  4. When I end up in situation 2. or 3., reprogramming the chip (All the above mentioned registers, in the way it is advised to in the datasheet), good audio quality is restored and RSSI reading makes sense again.

So, my question is simple: what can be the reason for that? I haven't found any article describing any similar problem in this forum so I guess there's nothing wrong with the chip in the first place.

Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Damien.

Hi All,

I'd like to know a following point about ADN2847 application circuit.

According to Figure 15 in the datasheet of ADN2847(RevB), a laser with common PD-cathode and LD-anode is used for this circuit.

If a laser with common PD-anode and LD-cathode is used, how to change the circuit?

Could you tell me about this?

Regards,

Taiki

What is TECGAIN of ADN8834 DS?

$

Hi,

I have a question about TEC controller ADN8834.

I can see an equation of f_0dB in DS at p18.

Can you explain what TECGAIN in it?

from Fig 35, 0dB should  be at 1/(2*pi*R_1*C_1). But f_0dB of equation has x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN.

I assume the followings;

1. TECGAIN is a varied value from device itself. It can change by hot mode or cold mode.

2. When users think of PID Compensation, they can ignore x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN. The part would be canceled as x1 or very tiny???

Is my assumption correct?

If not, could you explain what it is?

I would like to know

- What is TECGAIN? and how can it be led in calculation?

- Why is x(R_FB/(R_TH + R_x) - R_FB/R)xTECGAIN ignored in Fig 35?

Thank you for your help.

Hello everyone,

I am looking to implement a lock-in amplifier in the range of 100kHz to 1MHz to obtain amplitude and phase information.  Any thoughts on whether the AD630 will be ok for this frequency range, or is there another device out there that is better?

Thanks,

AJ

ADF7021 with external Rx/Tx switch (ADG919)

Hi,

we have made and are using RF modules based on the ADF7021 transceiver with it's internal Rx/Tx switch. So far we are very satisfied with its performance. But we would like to go one step further and build a module with an external Rx/Tx switch (ADG919). I know that there are parasitic capacitance and inductance dependent from a specific pcb layout but any way are there any pre calculated values for matching LC networks for 433MHz, 868MHz and 915Mhz frequencies for such design?

Controlling digital potentiometer (AD5142) by Arduino UNO

Hi, I am trying to control digital potentiometer (AD5142) by Arduino UNO.

캡처.PNG
Here is the pin configuration of AD5142.

I connect SCLK pin to 13 pin of Arduino (serial clock pin), SDI pin to 11 pin of Arduino (MOSI pin) and SDO pin to 12 pin of Arduino (MISO pin).

SYNC pin was connected to digital output pin of Arduino.

And according to the data sheet of AD5142, I connected the RESET pin to V(LOGIC) pin because I don't want to use reset.

V(DD), A1 and A2 pin to 5V and V(SS) to ground.

And I used the Arduino code below,

------------------------------------------------

// inslude the SPI library:
#include <SPI.h>

// set pin 10 as the slave select for the digital pot:
const int slaveSelectPin = 8;

void setup() {
  // set the slaveSelectPin as an output:
   pinMode (slaveSelectPin, OUTPUT);
  // initialize SPI:
   SPI.begin();
   Serial.begin(9600);
}

void loop() {
//***********************************************************
int channel1 = 0;
/////////////////////
double voltage1 = 2;
/////////////////////
double level1 = voltage1 * 51;
digitalPotWrite(channel1, level1);

int channel2 = 1;
/////////////////////
double voltage2 = 2;
/////////////////////
double level2 = voltage2 * 51;
digitalPotWrite(channel2, level2);
}
//***********************************************************

void digitalPotWrite(int address, double value) {
   // take the SS pin low to select the chip:
   digitalWrite(slaveSelectPin,LOW);
   //  send in the address and value via SPI:
   SPI.transfer(address);
   SPI.transfer(value);
   // take the SS pin high to de-select the chip:
   digitalWrite(slaveSelectPin,HIGH);
}

------------------------------------------------

However, I cannot control the resistance of AD5142.

Can you help me?

ADN8834, Amplifers

Hallo,

are the two chopper stabilized amplifers inside the ADN8834 on while the chip is in standby. I plan implementing a digital control loop arournd the AD8834. It want to use one of the amplifiers for buffering the voltage across the thermistor. But I want to measure temperature without activation the power stage.

ADF7021-N receiver synchronization problem

$

Hello,

I am working with ADF7021-N with an STM32 microcontroller. I am measuring the BER which is fine when transmitter and receiver are close to each other. But when they are further, like 90 meters, and the attenuation fo the signal is higher (signal power is arround -75dBm at the peak) i start having strange behavior. At that range, when i receive a packet BER is 0, but the problem is that there is packet loss packets (100 packets out of 1000, so 10%). I think it is a problem with the CDR at the receiver, so it is not able to synchronize early enough to detect SWD.

I use 869.5MHz as central frequency with a 19.68MHz crystal, RC2FSK with alpha=0.7, fdev=3kHz, 9.6kbps, preamble of 128 bits, SWD=0x123456 with 0 errors allowed.

My question is if it is normal to los packets in this scenario and, if not, which could be the source of this problem and its solution?

Thank you very much.

Suggessions required to improve perfomance of ADF7021-V

Hi all,

I have interface ADF7021-V daughterboard with an 8 bit microcontroller to transmit a realtime ECG signal. I found the system is working perfectly without any error in case of Line Of Sight (LOS) with more than 50 meters. But if there is no LOS, ie. in case of in between walls, the system fails to work beyond 20 feet.

Is it possible to do anything to improve the efficiency in case of no LOS?

Question about test setting of ADN8834

Hello,

My customer wants to confirm the performance of ADN8834 using EVM first.

And they are trying to test a ADN8834 EVM and TOSA module with Thermoelectric Cooler (from NeoPhotonics.)

During the test, they say that they can't confirm TEC currents, they can confirm only small change of TEC currents occasionally.

So they request how to confirm the operation of ADN8834 and how to set up ADN8834 at temperature test.

(They use plat cable for connecting between ADN8834 in EVM and TEC in TOSA module.)

Would you advise me how to test ADN8834 in EVM ?

If you have any questions, please let me know.

ADN8331 H Bridge circuit dead zone issue

        Hi, everybody,I am going to use the ADN8831 to control the DFB Laser temperture,and I have a question need you to help me to solve,which is the H Bridge driver circuit that make up of the mosfet.

       As you know, H Bridge driver circuit has the positive and negative deriction to drive the TEC in turn,the P-mosfet and the N-mosfet are controlled by the output of PWM and Linear AMP ,but the problem is when the circuit change the state from the positive to negative deriction,there is a dead zone exist in seconds(maybe decide by mosfet),if I want to eliminate this phenomenon,what I should do?Could you suggest some nice ways improve or solve the issue?Besides,if I replace the mosfet by the NPN transistor which controlled by the linear AMP part,is it will be better than the mosfet? Look forward to your reply,thanks!

HI this is my sch of ad5520. the pin 64(CLL) vee_3v3 is -3.3V and pin 63(CLH) vcc_3v3 is +3.3v.

I change the pin 26(FIN) voltage , the pin 58 (MEASOUT) should from -3.3V to + 3.3V . but the pin 58 (MEASOUT)  is -0.256V to 3.3V.

the R74 is 100K. and in force current mode

why the pin 58 (MEASOUT)  is -0.256V to 3.3V.
